Area Measurement
This tool calculates the area and perimeter within a drawn polygon feature on the map. Clicking on the tool will activate an instruction window that will display the measurement.

Click in the map to draw the vertexes around an area and double-click to complete the polygon. The area and perimeter of the drawn feature will be displayed in the Measure Tab.

There is a pull-down menu that will provides a number of unit types to select from (such as feet, meters, sq feet, sq acres).
To reset the tool, click the "New Measurement" bar. This tool allows only one drawing to exist at a time.
